Things to do at the West Bank
Here you will find some nice restaurants, coffee shops and supermarkets.
The most famous sight seeings in this area are; the Valley of the Kings with the tomb of Tutankhamoun, the Valley of the Queens with the tumb of Nefertari, Collosi of Memnon, the Temple of Hatsepsut, Deir El Medina and Medinet Habou.
Things to do at the East Bank
If you cross the river, 5 minutes with the pont for (LE) 1 Egyptian pound (€ 1 is around 8 Egyptian pound), or even quicker with a motorboat, you can visit the more busy area at the East Bank.
The most famous sight seeings on this side are; Luxor Temple, Luxor museum, Ramesseum, a camel market and Karnak Temple (with a very famous sound and light show).
It is also great to go for a Feluka trip over the Nile to Banana Island, or Crocodile Island. Do a quat trip, donkey, camel or horse ride, see Luxor from above with a hot air balloon trip, or just relax and enjoy at the roof terrace of Home Sweet Home.
Other excursions
If you go North of Luxor it is very nice to visit the old villages Abydos with the Temple of Seti I and Dendera with the Temple of Hathour.
To the South of Luxor are the old villages Edfu with the Temple of Horus, El Kab, Esna with the Temple of Ahnoum and Kom Ombo with the Temple of Sobek and the Temple of Harouris.
